Cats Meet in Beijing

One of the most popular musicals the world has ever seen
will set the stage for two key arts events in the capital this
spring.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats will be the prelude to
the fourth Meet in Beijing festival from April 27 to May 30 and
Beijing' s Second International Drama Festival, which runs from
April 27 to May 31.
Nine performances from April 27 to May 3 will be staged in
the magnificent Great Hall of the People.
The event is jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of
Culture, the Municipal Peoples Government of Beijing, the
Communist Party Committee of Beijing, The State Administration
of Radio, Film and Television and the China Federation of
Literature and Art Circles. Jointly presented by the China
Performing Arts Agency, the popular Meet in Beijing and Beijing
s Second International Drama Festival are designed to promote
Chinese traditional culture while introducing the best of
foreign arts in a bid to enhance exchanges between China and
the rest of the world.
