Copperfield Returns to Captivate Capital2004/04/01
The man dubbed by the New York Times as "a giant of magic and illusion" is returning to China for a major tour that includes eight shows in Beijing organized by the Poly Culture & Art Co., Ltd from April 20-25. The first magician to be honoured by inclusion on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Copperfield has twice been named 'best entertainment celebrity of the year'.He has continued to dazzle a worldwide audience with stunts ranging from walking 'through' the Great Wall of China to levitating across the Grand Canyon and making the Statue of Liberty 'disappear'. In 2002, his spectacular magic impressed thousands of people in China's capital and millions more watching on television. Another 38 performances will be given in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Changsha from the end of April through to the beginning of May. Integrating history, storytelling, romance, high-tech and supreme organization, Copperfield never fails to surprise his audiences. In April in Beijing, he promises to make a sofa seating two people fly. He also promises that two totally new programmes will be included in his tour of China.
