SOS-Kinderdorf Orphans Performing Chinese Music in Austria

2004/03/01

In January 2004, 18 Chinese SOS-Kinderdorf Orphans from the SOS-Kinderdorf in Qiqiha'er, Heilongjiang Province departed on Austrian Airlines from Beijing to Austria for a eight-day performance tour of traditional Chinese music. The children performed concerts of the Austrian-Chinese Friendship Society, the Austrian public and the Austrian Federal President.

The Austrian SOS-Kinderdorf organization is one of the world's largest private organizations in support for children in need and is currently operating nine SOS-Kinderdorf-locations in China, providing a home to more than 1000 Chinese children. This trip was made possible by Austrian Airlines, which provided the tickets for the group free of charge.
