Spring is just about spring ,officially anyway, but the
recent run of face-numing weather and foggy dawns have done
little to set the pulses and seeing young men's fancy turning
lightly of love. That's what's is expected in this new
season, but this time around our guess is that guys' heavy
overcoats wise in our April issue and,who knows?,maybe a Young
Love pecture feature.
We hope you enjoy this Children's Special edition in which
we bring focus to the readjustment and other problems that face
the children of foreign expatriates when come to live in
Beijing and other parts of China. Some children,of course
interests such sports clubs.
Other, while not exactly traumatized by culture shock, are
sometimes upset by being taken away from their schools, friends
and relatives in their home country.Which is why schools here
such as the Western Academy of Beijing and it's elementary
school,BISS and others,go to considerable lengths to help their
pupils settle down and enjoy their time here.Parent's
understanding of their offspring's difficylties is equally
crucial , and it's good to know that understanding and care
afforded them.
On other pages you will find the second Yesteryear Beijing
feature by prolific ltalian aythor Adriano Madaro -who arguably
know more about China than any other foreigner-and the latest
exclusive from intrepid laowai New Long Marchers Ed and Andrew
McEwen ,this time from Sichuan. We also bring you lots of
entertainment and foodie news, including our popular Dining
Guide which this month focuses on Vietnamese cuisine. Local
news updates too,of course, and all manner of other info to keep
you au fait.
Enjoy!-and may you soon delight in the new spring in your
steps.
