Capital's Youngsters Enjoy Best Opportunities

Young people living in the national capital are the luckiest
in China in that they enjoy the best opportunities in
schooling, according to the city's statistical bureau. In its
2002 annual report, the bureau says about 70 percent of local
students who sat last year's national college entrance
examination were admitted to colleges and universities.
Among local people aged 18-22, 46 percent were admitted to
institutions of higher learning, the report says. Meanwhile,
4.5 million local residents attended part-time training
programs in various subjects last year.
