Beijing to Build World's Largest Indoor Skiing Stadium

The world's largest indoor skiing stadium is being built in
suburban Beijing's Shunyi District, the plan being that it will
be open every day of the year, reported China Daily.
Located in the vicinity of the Chaobaihe River, the
1.32-million-square-meter stadium will comprise 13 halls for
skiing, swimming, water-skiing and other sports. There will
also be space for conferences and meetings, and a total
spectator seating capacity of 13,000.
Costing US$98 million, the stadium has been designed as a
supplementary project for the 2008 Beijing Olympic
Games.
