Pampered Pets Live It Up During Festival

2003/03/01

Animal "hotels" offering room and board for pets made a financial killing during this year's Spring Festival. During the holiday period, the Pets' Home, the largest animal lodging and training center in Beijing, signed more than 50 service contracts with pet owners, most of whom had to leave town to fulfill their traditional family reunion obligations.

Pets' Home has in fact enjoyed steady growth in business since opened two years ago. Pets, mainly dogs and cats, have been entrusted to its care for periods ranging from several days to several months. Manager Yang Yang said: "Guest pets are provided with board, medical care and outdoor exercise. Each animal has a four-square-meter room to live in, and a six-square-meter outdoor space to move around whenever it wishes. Extra services are provided on request."
