Recycled Wastewater Aids Agriculture and Industry
2002/12/01
The Chinese capital has built more than 100 intermediate
water recycling centers, with a further 100 now under
construction. The city adds an average 30 such centers each
year, ranking it first in the nation. The centers recycle
wastewater for use in agricultural irrigation, urban
horticulture, car washes and industrial cooling. Meanwhile,
city authorities are asking real-estate developers to install
such facilities in new projects, enabling householders to use
the wastewater for sanitary purposes only.
