Feast of Steam Locomotives at New Railway Museum
2002/12/01
Foreign enthusiasts were the first visitors to the China
Railway Museum when it recently opened to the public close to
the circular test track of the National Railway Test Center
adjacent to the Airport Expressway, reported Beijing Morning
Post. Old locomotives named after China's founding fathers,
including Mao Zedong and Zhu De, were favorite choices among
photographers.
The 16,500-square-meter museum, located in the city's east
suburban area, also houses locomotives from Britain, the United
States, Japan and Belgium which were bought by China between
1881 and 1979.
