Changpu River Resurfaces
2002/06/01
Visitors to Tian'anmen Square will soon have a long-buried,
nearby small river to enjoy. Called Changpu, and also known as
the Outer Changpu River, it is now being excavated and readied
for the construction of four bridges before being officially
opened in August this year.
The 510-meter river is part of the 3.8-hectare Changpu Park
Project, which lies west of the Working People's Cultural
Palace and east of Nanheyan Dajie. Changpu River will be nine
meters in width and up to two meters in depth.
