Their Name is Bond...the Mizzes Bond

2002/04/01

t's music fans' ultimate dream ... fine tunes ranging from Latino to the classics, played by a quartet of young ladies who would not look out of place on a fashion catwalk. This is Bond, four classically trained musicians whose live appearances worldwide and a launch CD have grabbed the paying public beyond the wildest dreams of the promoters who brought them together and set them on the road to probable fortunes.

On April 5, Beijing will be the British group's concert venue, an event that has quickly seen a rush for tickets. Bond is made up of lead violinist Haylie Ecker; second violin Eos; cellist Gay-Yee; and a third violinist, Tania Davi.

Bond's introductory CD went straight into the British Top 10, immediately resulting in the group being invited to make TV appearances. Music trade magazines predicted that many fans of the famed Spice Girls and others of their genre would switch their allegiance to Bond, which seems to be the case.

Bond's music is as versatile as can be. Classically trained the young women may be, but they can switch to pop and dance music without losing a beat. One critic has described their work as "classic goes pop". Which is what Beijing music lovers can't wait to sample.

The group's performance is sponsored by Beijing All Culture Communication Company Ltd; the China Record Company; and Beijing Music Radio, 97.4.
