Shoppers' Paradise at Asian Games Village
2002/01/01
The huge developments in northern Beijing and continuing
influx of new residents are providing a huge financial shot in
the arm for the commercial sector of the Asian Games Village in
particular -witness the recent opening of a clutch of shopping
plazas, supermarkets and Huatang Shopping Center.
Three supermarket branches opened last October alone, with
Pricemart also said to be planning a new store. The village is
also a potential site for a Wal-Mart outlet, which plans to
open a number of stores in Beijing late this year or early in
2003, reports Beijing Morning Post.
