Harbin Ice Sculptures Cut It at Ditan Park

2002/01/01

Beijing's Ditan Park is now the site of an "Art of Ice" exhibition until March, enabling people to view some of the world's best ice sculptures from Harbin, China's northernmost provincial capital and famed for this art form.

The sculptures, displayed on an area of 6,000sq.m, follow six themes: the Olympic Flame, Chinese landscapes, northern Chinese life, Peking Opera, foreign tourist attractions, and what is promoted as a "dreamy wonderland for children".

Ditan Park is north of Yonggegong Lama Temple.
