Largest Number of Volunteers

The largest number ever of volunteers-around 30,000-worked
at the sports venues, meetings, giving guidance and information
to athletes, introducing the venues, organizing and stewarding
spectators and cheer squads, maintaining order and seeing to
any other related work.
The number of members of participating delegations in the
21st Universiade reached 7,012 one day after the opening,
according to the
Accrediation Center of the Unviersiad
Organizing Committee. The figure include 4,708 athletes
from 143 countries and regions and 2,304 officials from
155 countries and regions.

Delegations with more than 100 members were: China (390),
Japan (314), Russia (285), the United States (266), Ukraine
(213), France (212), Canada (206), South Africa (195), the
Republic of Korea (190), Italy (190), Germany (153), Britain
(151), Spain (142), the Netherlands (137), Australia (136),
Poland (126), Hungary (110), and the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea (100).
