AmCham’s Beijing Forum Visits Planning Hall
2005/04/20
About 40 members and guests of the American
Chamber of Commerce's Beijing Forum visited the Beijing
Planning Exhibition Hall on April 2.
The event was sponsored by the chamber and
Beijing This Month Publications (BTM) Business Beijing magazine
and Wild China, a local travel firm.
According to Jim Stent of the forum and Wild
China, the purpose of the trip was to acquaint chamber members
with Beijing's urban development plans. This is in line with
the chamber's Beijing Forum's mission of doing what it can to
improve communications between the city and its leaders and the
American expatriate and business community in Beijing.
During a tour of the massive, futuristic urban
planning hall, participants had an opportunity to meet and chat
with Wei Ke, vice-curator of the planning hall and
vice-director of the Beijing Commission of Urban Planning
Exhibition Center.
Beijing This Month's Shirley Zhang said Business
Beijing sponsored the trip to improve its contacts with the
foreign business community in Beijing.
